Wedding Trivia

Photographers go to more weddings than most, so hereare a few snippets I've picked up along the way...

The correct way...

...to do anything, is the way you want to.  Its the individual touches that make any wedding special, whether its a wedding cake constructed out of french fancies or a bouquet of sweet peas, because that's just someone's favourite flower.  Be yourself, just make sure your guests feel welcome.

On the day...

..drink LOTS of Champagne...

Magnum of champagne

And don't forget to put a sixpence in your shoe - then you'll want for nothing for all your married life.

Speeches

It is becoming popular to have the speeches before the meal.  Those making the speeches can then relax and enjoy their meal too.  Ladies are making speeches too - let the chief bridesmaid compete with the best man!

The world's shortest speech...

"One should never speak in public for longer than one can make love in private... so I'll sit down now!"

Parrying up

One of my favourite traditions is called 'parrying up'.  During the wedding service local children tie up the gates of the church with bits of rope and, when the newly weds come out, they have to throw money to the children before they are let out.  It usually results in a mad scramble for the money!

But seriously tho...

..enjoy every minute - it will go all too quickly.
